About
Jason Stroud
Born and raised on the Grand Strand, working on cars, trucks and motorcycles wherever they happen to be parked.
A1 Grand Strand is a mobile operation, which means there is no counter, no waiting room and no service advisor between you and the person doing the work. You talk to Jason, Jason looks at the car, and Jason tells you what he found.
The part of this that is unusual is what is in the gallery. Engine builds, performance work and custom motorcycles are not what most mobile mechanics do, because most of them only carry what unbolts from the outside. It means a job another mobile guy calls a tow can sometimes stay exactly where it is.
Experience And Training
Jason spent 30 years working with his dad before going out on his own this year.
He has passed ASE Entry Level exams in collision mechanical and electrical components, non structural analysis and damage repair, painting and refinishing, and structural analysis and damage repair, current through September 2027. He also completed training through iCEV, an ASE accredited training provider, in engine performance, engine repair, and steering and suspension in August 2025.
How a Visit Goes
You call and describe what it is doing. He asks the year, make and model so the right parts are on the truck. He comes to the car, finds the fault, and tells you what it is before anything is replaced. The old part comes out in front of you.
What He Will Not Do
Start a job in your driveway that cannot be finished there. If it genuinely needs a lift, a press or a shop floor, you will hear that on the phone rather than after the car is in pieces.
